Amr Mohey is a born and raised Egyptian. One of the forerunners in the Cairo underground music scene since the early 00’s, he advocates hunting down and mixing the freshest music made by artists from around the world, known or unknown.
His trademark sound fits in between House and Techno and ranges from deeper and darker beats to groovy vibes, all with a keen sense of melody and funk, guaranteeing full on dance floor drive. Mohey has also been producing his own tracks and releasing them on various labels around the world, but most recently with Cairo based electronic music label, Electrum Records. His first release with Electrum Records, “Killer’s Eye” in Project Mosaic EP, was picked by Beatport to be charted in the 10 Must Hear Indie/Nu Disco tracks of 2013. He is always working on new material and keeping a close eye on how electronic music in Egypt is evolving. |
